Crazy Treadmill Japanese Game

Crazy Treadmill Japanese Game at Amazon

I am writing this article right away on the topic of when to use the Spanish preterit tense while an incident that took place tonight is still fresh in my mind. Tonight, I heard a non-native Spanish speaker (Gringo) make a MAJOR fault in Spanish that worries when to use the preterit tense in the Spanish language. It is a very mutual fault that a heap of native English speakers make so I wanted to fetch this to your attention while it is still fresh on my mind.

Tonight, I was at the “gimnasio” (gym) here in Medellín called Body Tech (pronounced, of course, with a Latino accent.) While I was in the “gimnasio” an American was on the treadmill and I heard him say to his Colombian friend:

“Casi me caí”

(“I almost fell”)

I waited for his Colombian friend to rectify his Spanish, but he didn’t. Maybe the Colombiano didn’t want to embarrass his American friend in a gym full of Colombianos.

But do you recognise what’s defective with this phrase?:

“Casi me caí”

(“I almost fell”)

Well, the speaker is thinking in English while he is speaking in Spanish. What do I mean by that?

In English, we use the past tense to describe an event that “almost” happened in the past.

For example:

I almost fell.

I almost died.

I almost arrived late.

I closely slipped.

But in Spanish, you cannot use the preterit tense to describe an even that “almost” happened in the past. In Spanish, you MUST use the present tense when talking in regards to an event that “almost” occurred in the past.

So the guy that almost fell on the treadmill must have employed Spanish’s present tense and said:

Casi me caigo.

(I almost fell).

And the same is unfeigned for these phrases:

Casi me muero.

(I closely died.)

Casi llego tarde.

(I almost arrived late.)

Casi me resbalo.

(I closely slipped.)

You may also listen native Spanish speakers use the phrase “por poco” rather of “casi” for the English word “almost.” Por ejemplo…

Por poco me caigo.

(I almost fell.)

Por poco me muero.

(I closely died.)

Por poco llego tarde.

(I almost arrived late.)

Por poco me resbalo.

(I closely slipped.)

5Crazy Campers…FUN!
By Happy Shopper
This is a great brainteaser puzzle. Actually, it’s various puzzles in one. I’ve had a blast with this game and the piece characters depicted in the game are a riot. I highly commend this for everyone!

5Crazy for Crazy Campers!
By Michelle
I also purchased this game for my husband for Christmas. He has hardly even been capable to play it even though because it is genuinely ordinary with the whole family!!

The other reviewer said it was difficult for casual puzzlers–we also found it a little difficult and so when we get frustrated we just look at the hints. Each card has two “Camping Tips” that are hints so with the main piece and then one or two hints we are capable to do them. We are casual/new puzzlers and love it so do not be scared off! The fact that it is challenging is a good thing because we will not get tired of it too fast—and as we get better we must be capable to do it without as galore hints.

Highly commend this game!!

5Great fun!
By Andy
This puzzle is harder than other brainteasers. (If I want to play quickly and get solutions quickly I use Rush hour.) But I always use the hints and that makes it quicker; and that I still get stuck and just look at the solutions.
This is neat for little kids as well because the pieces are nicely made and they seem lasting (I had it around my 3 year old a great deal of times and none of the plastic constituents ever broke off). It’s ought to be good for old farts too, so I’ll get one for my dad-in-law.
